I took the Hujoo doll outside in the rain yesterday evening. Squatting under an umbrella, I tried to balance her, the camera and said bumpershoot without falling over myself.

If you squint hard enough, you can imagine she is walking in a sea of fallen cherry blossoms ;)

The rain has come and gone, at least long enough for the sum to come out and start recharging our batteries for a few days and before the next wave of wet.

Feeling soooo lazy today. Stayed up late watching more episodes of TrueBlood with Teh Man last night. We are now caught up to where he left off on the televised version ~ so we can now enjoy the 2nd half of the first season before I take off to Vancouver.

I was talking to my father today and mentioned where the hubber was going and my dad asked me if he'd taken *bug spray*.

*0__0?!

It has been SO LONG since I've been north that I'd forgotten it is PRIME black fly season right now. OH NELLY is Teh Bob going to be not particularlly thrilled with *networking* on the golf course all day and scratching all night.

In fact...I don't see him getting past a few holes before he retreats to the club house because he is such a city boy XD. *sporfle*

Whether it's kicking back and ignoring the world or rushing round for personal fun, I hope everyone has a good itch-free weekend! :3
  • I think you did an awesome job with the pics here. I think I like the second one best. And yes, it does look like she's standing on top of the water.
    • I really like the 2nd one too, because it looks like the flowers are painted on the driveway like an abstract or...they are floating along a river and she's doing a really nifty Jesus impersonation ;)

  • Man, that flower/water combo is GORGEOUS!
    • Thank-you. I wish I'd had more patience and better balance and more time but...it turned out okay in the end. Not great ...but good enough :)
  • Very neat effect from the water. I think I can see your shadow there.
    • Nope...not in those shots ;)

Actually that's her reflection. The worst was trying to keep the basketball hoop/net reflection out of the photos. Drove me slightly nutty.

I was under an umbrella by the way so my ...er...reflection would have been really big >D
  • I have to say, I've never really cared for the look of the Hujoo dolls. They creep me out, for some weird reason. I think it's the eyes. *shrug* But on the other hand, your Hujoo doll doesn't look... so excessive. I like the face up. (*laughs at self* Not enough to want one, but this doll looks relatively good.)

But comparing the shot of the doll against the icon you picked for this post, I think you got really close to the geisha look. In that regard, she looks fine. I like the kimono too. *smile*

But the artistic shots of standing on/in water? Amazing! I really like how the photos in total came out. They're quite lovely, especially with all the flowers surrounding her. Kudos for taking her out into the rain to attempt it! ^__^
    • I LOATHE the open-eyed hujoo...they totally creep me out but these narrow eyed ones are a different matter entirely. I was willing to try them and liked the first one so much (amazing poser) that I got her a companion (hujoo boy ~ wing) ...

Anyway the whole point of the exercise was just to try them out and I leaned to apply eyelashes on this one before I moved to other dolls. The is totally silly and her *hopefully to be faced up monk companion* will be a lot more simple to paint up. Don't like the surface though...it's just pvc and smooooth.

AND as for taking her out in the rain...heh...she's hard plastic and it was like water off a ducks back. >D
