Continuing to check things off my list ~ aibeit slowly, but none the less I am doing it.

~ China cupboard sorted/cleaned/re-arranged.

~ Items from said cabinet that I detest, dislike and/or simply have no interest in ever using (a.k.a. 23 years worth of fugly stuff that I've been gifted with over the years) wrapped in newspaper and boxed up to be given away.

...I think I am starting to grasp the concept of not having to keep everything people give me that I find not to my taste. I just don't have the space or the patience to keep unwanted crap anymore.

I must be turning into a grumpy old woman >D

~ large, seasonal rag runners/rugs washed and hung outside to dry

~ teen dressing room (formerly the sprogs'room) dregs of wallpaper removed, cracks and holes patched and sanded.

~ hanging files cleaned out.

~ had a chat with Xan who gave me a lesson in the new FTP on my system.

~ bathroom cleaned (weekly scrubdown)

~ grass cut / minor weeding done

~ laundry done ~ including washing all livingroom throws/blankets. With a big old Victorian, some rooms have little heating and our livingroom tends to be on the cool side so we have a stack of blankets for anyone sitting there to put over their laps.

~ some floral photography done (and a photoshoot with Tuuli here, standing with the spirea down the street) including shopping n cropping selected images.

...still...didn't get that side strip of yard done, but it's on the list between things that haven't been struck out yet...just below *paint bedroom*.

My father is coming this week to help pour my cement bottom front step.

...okay...My father is coming this week to pour the bottom front step and I'll be helping him ;)

18 days till Vancouver. Tick tick tick wheeee! :)
  • In between all the things on your list you still found time to try to enable me to buy yet another book and succeeded beyond what you originally planned! The good part is that I believe I managed to enable you right back. *evil grin*
    • But of course....enabling is second nature to me (rather like it is to you)....we do it unconciously in passing.

      XD

I suspect we are caught in a karmatic loop...you enable me / I enable you and so on ....

I think the gods of yaoi are laughing their hinnies off at our expense ;)

  • In between all those chores, you managed a pic of her. Superwoman, you are^_~

She's so pretty. *looks and smiles*
    • Well it was first thing in the morning...before my coffee even. The neighbourhood was quiet and the light was good and the ground was ...mostly dry :)

Dashed up the street with camera in one hand and doll in the other and ignored any joggers that went by at 7:30 on a Sunday morning. ...but it was soooo cold. 4C with a stiff breeze. My hands...they were screaming with pain by the time I dashed home. Gah.

I WAS going to grab another doll and go up to take pictures by the train but I was too cold to care at that point.

I have her sitting on a chair beside the pc now...her own chair. I've cleared room on the pc table and now I'll have a place for a doll to visit me when I play on the pc. *make a point to make time for members of her resin army*

Thank-you and yes I think she's pretty to. I haven't like any of the other LEs that JS has brought out after her...but then I was alway spartial to the Sooah sculpt :)
      • I wonder if any of them noticed the woman with the big doll and camera^_^ normal folks must think dolly people are a BIT weird.

You saw the new LE by Elfdoll? She looks like a Faerie Queen perhaps. I hope they bring back the Soah sculpt or something similar. It's the only SD doll I might buy.
        • I'm sure a few were looking out their windows thinking ??!?!? but...seeing as it was early Sunday morning they were either away camping/cottaging OR they were sleeping ;)

Yes...I saw Pandora when she was first introduced. A Faerie Queen from Pans Labrynth pershaps...she's got vampire fangs.

I rather like the ears on her but I'm not particularly fond of the Lydia sculpt...she looks particularly *stunned*. Like you I'm fonder of the Soah or Sooah sculpts, plus I'm cringing at the Ruru and other streetwalker versions they are coming out with in the past year. I've got my Elfdolls (Sooah elf and Hazy) and Obitsu tribe~ and have yet seen a SD girl beyond them that moves me.

          *knocks on wood*
          • Well.. the Sidhe Queens are supposed to be vicious^_^

            *tries not to laugh*
Streetwalkers, eh? The designs DO seem to be going toward Western tastes lately at Elfdoll.
            • *^___^* Yeah I would imagine there are a lot of *fairies* in modern and traditional myth who can be quite vicious.

I do believe the design team at Elfdoll is working with western shop owners to design dolls for this market ...and while I can't fault them, after all it is a business and they are constantly testing what will sell...I find the results really disappointing. They look like something Tonner or others would create if they were making Elfdolls...but then that is the market the Korean sculpter sees ripe for the picking.

*shrugs*....I find them sleezy but nobody is making me buy them either ;)
              • I find them sleezy but nobody is making me buy them either

                *grins*
I think the term they're marketing it under is "Sexy and Confident Woman"^_~

mutters something feminist about it being insulting
      • Her own chair? A kid-sized one?
  • Tuuli looks quite lovely. I love how her eyes stand out, and she's in general such a gentle sculpt without that wide-eye open-mouth look that is common. I really like her.

But just reading all the things you are doing is making me tired! *smile* It's great that you're managing to get so many things done. And I bet you're excited about your Vancouver trip. ^___^ The countdowns are always so much fun when they get down into single digits. *grin*
    • Tuuli was my first 100% impulse doll. The others I flitted around but when Emory listed her I just about lost my mind...this doll wanted to come home NOW!

My husband thought I was nuts...but I did ask permission. I can't argue with him ...but he did admit she is seriously pretty and I secretly think that he is happy if I balance my boys with girls because he's worried I'm going to have a lot of pretty boy dolls XD

OH yes...very excited about Vancouver....only 12 days now *bounces*....mind you, that is tempered by the fact that I have to cram a lot into that time and get things done *erk*
