Someone in DoA announced in a news thread the release by Dollmore of a new doll and was quickly told by a Mod that:
As Dollmore considers this doll to be a fashion doll, she is off topic for DoA. Thanks!
I checked the regs and they seem to fit the following List
*0__o?
SO sent the following question to a Mod at DoA:
Regarding the new Dollmore fashion doll in the News section
I was just curious about DoA's definintion of Asian Fashion doll...since these large ones from Dollmore are made of resin, have removable head parts, eyes, are strung and wear wigs...is it just the fact that the company calls them *fashion dolls* that bans them from DoA?
I just wanted that clarified for myself since it occurs to me the entire point of all the dolls in DoA is for them to wear fashions/genres of clothing haute couture, gothic, lolita, etc. of some sort or another.
Is it the fact the fact that the word *fashion*is used in the description of the doll rather than a random string of numbers or girl/boy that is the offence?
Thank-you in advance.

I am awaiting theirsmackdown and obtusifcation of reasoning clarification on this matter.
THE ANSWER:
Heya,
Actually, BJDs were intended more for customization than for displaying fashion. This is one of the main things that differentiates them from fashion dolls. The bodies of 'traditional' BJDs are more detailed than fashion dolls, which are more vehicles for the fashions they display, and as such, display an anatomy with that in mind.
Dollmore has identified these 41cm resin dolls as 'fashion dolls' and their bodies and faces bear more in common with the classic fashion doll than with what we term Asian BJDs. For this reason, the 41 cm fashion doll line has been deemed off topic for DoA.
Well I managed to word the question in such as way that this particular mod wasn't irked and responded without chastizing me ~ however ~ I still think this is BS.
I KNOW they are thinking about Sybarites and other Western *fashion* dolls but no matter HOW many ways I look at the images of this doll (and others like her) I can't for the life of me see that it doesn't have a LOT in common with numerous other Korean or Chinese produced resins that are perfectly acceptable on DoA and the ONLY diffrence is the marketing angle the company takes.
There are HUGE debates about the pelvis area of dolls and whether or not one should blush such parts on either gender ~ some would prefer their dolls entirely neutered while others lean toward androgany ~ the point being that just WHAT constitutes detail anyway? If it's genitalia then you can rest assured that Dollmore's guys and gals are definately packing the right equipment.
When people argue against blushing the dangly bits because it's too much and besides dolls are always clothed anyway...I am left thinking *wtf* when other dolls get banned because they are designed to wear a certain type of clothing.
Aren't they all?
Anorexic manwhores = Good.
Anorexic runway models = Bad.
Dollyworld = nuckingfuts
