Last week a good friend jumped me and gushed enthusiastially about an HBO vampire series she'd just discovered and streamed all 5 episodes online the night before.

I was dubiuous....until I watched a trailer online and realized that if the people that brought us Six Feet Under had moved from the dead to the undead then it couldn't be all bad.

I did wee bit of research online about this TRUE BLOOD thing and discovered the show is based on a series of books by Charlaine Harris, the first being DEAD UNTIL DARK.

The book (series) arrived in the post today and I am about done reading volume one.

This is NOT *shudder* Twilight.

It's also not Laurell K Hamilton nor Anne Rice either.

So far it IS just sexy & fun and a murder mystery too!


....tomorrow it's going to be really cold. I think I'm going to find a warm corner and read book 2. :)
