I picked up a used silk scarf today with the idea of making it into some kind of wrap for Claudette.
Being the completely a complete idiot and all thumbs as a seamstress I seemed to acknowledge my brain asking questions like *I wonder if stitches are visible on the other side?* without actually pausing to reflect ~ THEN I tried the dress on her and discovered that I'd done it insideout...*0_0!
Instead of a kaftan I have a gown. Um...
Don't ask.
Anyway at about the 2/3rds done ~ and cost of $1.99 plus a bunch of patience as my fingers (dry) kept catching the thread and fabric...coupled with the reality that I really had no idea what I was doing....it wasn't as bad as it could have been. I need to root through my beads and silk stash and see what I can find to work on that neckline & figure out a nice belt other than just a bunch of rope to hold it snug >D
Man this is going to be a very long trek up hill...but I suppose everyone starts at the bottom.
Anyway ~ her wig arrived too so ... my busty girl is no longer sitting wigless and glaring at me clad in nothing but a wee housecoat that is an afront to her sense of style. I'll be darkening up her eyebrows now that THE wig has arrived and I have something to match it to.
I am trying to do a bit of dolly work every day instead of leaving it for the weekend and frustrating myself with too many directions to run in :)
*...and this will last how long?*....*Shhh best not to ask*
