The desk this morning: Claudette is but into the *observation chair* ...I'll get to the neckline and waist/belt on her out fit later ~ but what is gnawing at my brain right now is Mizu's netting.
*yes those are loose heads at her feet ~ Sora and Rita are ready for their face-ups having been scrubbed with isopropyl alcohol and then washed with hot water and dish detergent to remove any mold release residue and allowed to air dry, and then 2 coatings of MSC to protect them from staining (from the colours) and give the surface tooth to work on.*
ANYWAY...Mizu's outfit. He who will not wear clothing. The ONLY thing this particular doll is fine with is that pair of white leggings. He seems fairly content to keep those on...
...which leads the gentle reader to wonder *WTF?...the DOLL tells YOU what it will wear?*
Um..yeah they do. No point trying to explain it beyond the fact that sometimes getting an outfit onto a doll is more difficult that you can imagine and you can't help but wonder if he/she isn't putting up a fight like a little kid being forced into a snowsuit.
His shirt ...which took me 5 MINUTES to put on him came off in seconds. He is looking dreadfully pleased with himself (after a week or so looking grumpy and flopping off the chair he was sitting in) and I am not going to argue with a bit of resin who wants the world to acknowledge his skinny white torso. Fishscales it is buddy...we'll talk in May when the weather gets better for spraying MSC.

ANYhoo....the netting. I was beside myself trying to figure out a colour to suit the boy as a base for his regally draped netting because I couldn't find anything suitable. I KNEW what I wanted but couldn't lay my hands on it in...until I stumbled on a nylon bag in a dollar store.
It couldn't ...actually be the right colour to go with his eyes...could it?
I paid my buck...and tax. Brought it home and was not a little stunned at HOW PERFECT a match it was. Um....that will never happen again.
Okay...so I took the sack apart and I have a lot of netting to work with. Something greco-fabulous with beading is the next item on my agenda of to-dos. :)
...and tell me he doesn't look like a cat that swallowed a canary? Got his way in the end & is dreadfully smug. This would be his *Heh* face.
...dolls. Pushy little buggers.
