Dollyblather...

Add to Memories Tell a Friend

Took a quick pic of Tuuli and Kulta this morning, who have moved to the Library from the little sofa by my artboard.

The Obitsu Girls are currently hanging out on the kiddy couch, since they are still being worked on....and I need them to model clothing that I'm making for them.

In the library Tuuli seems *okay* with her new wig (not shown off to it's best in the piccie ~ sorry ~ but it doesn't hide her face and ears all the time which I'm happy about) and I have a new outfit for her, but haven't had the chance to wash and press it yet, so she will have to be content in hodge podge of boy clothing plus a skirt she's currently in.

I love her boots. They are MSD sized and they fit her like a glove. I'd emailed Denver Doll Emporium about a line of shoes they carry and if they would kindly tell me what the inside measurement is ,and typically they would only say that the MSD are too small on Elfdolls and SDs too big and since they don't carry Obitsu they just can't say. =__=

I have a few pet peeves in the Dollyworld, and one of them is the fact that MOST manufacturers can't be bothered to list the *inside size* of their doll shoes.

The problem is that doll foot size is not universal and selling shoes as YO-SD/MSD/SD is like selling people shoes as S/M/L ~ and while someone said to me, when I complained about it that it's no big deal ...and that dolls don't get blisters..well sorry, but it IS a big deal.

If you are forking over a considerable amount of coin for a pair of shoes the size of your thumb you want the things to fit ~ NOT look like the doll was dressed in shoes from her mother's closet or not being able to squeeze the item onto a resin foot.

HOW is it wrong to expect a doll seller (let alone manufacturer) to take a F**King measuring tape and then code the information into their website? HOLY CRAP I can't get over this. It's as though they really don't give a *bleep* and just WANT you to make a bad purchase.

For my part I err on the side of caution and won't purchase the shoes unless I have those *inside* numbers. Getting my hands on 1930s-40s style pumps is going to be a real hassle and in the end I'll probably have to make them myself if I am determined to have something besides a simple black heels. *growls*

Here we have Samual ~ he's on the shelf below Tuuli and Kulta (where Mizu used to hang out while I was trying to figure out his personality). He seems much more content here ~ out of the direct eye of people lounging on the people couch and watching t.v. ~ my mother was rather cute and moved a cat she'd given me to this little diorama and I have to admit it really does fit into the scene nicely.

Speaking of Mizu...I've been working on his outfit (one of several) and he's so NOT impressed with me.

Oh his prsonality is coming through LOUD and CLEAR. If there was EVER a doll determined to be naked...this is the one!

I really can hardly wait 'til the weather is nice enough for me to start working on his body (spraying it out of doors) ~ then we'll see who has the upper hand on things when he's lying in pieces on my desk, scrubbed, sprayed and sueded... and I'm painting him within inch of his fishy little life.

For now though ~ it's all critique. Too tight. Too confining. I'm suffocating. TAKE IT OFF!!! GLARE GLARE~FLOP FLOP FLOP...I WON'T WEAR IT! MORE FLOPPING.

......this morning I took my coupon for Micheals and hit up their beading sale. I think I have a solution for the Prince of Pain-in-my-butt.

I'll see how it works out and show off later. I really want to get his wig made but can't seem to move beyond this clothing issue at the moment.

Well off to play at housekeeping before I can get back to my dolls :)

....a compromise?

Are we a smug little Water Element?

I'd say yes we ARE.

Smug smug.

Very smug.

*sighs as she pitches beads and blue netting into a box*

Okay....now to attend to sewing a wig.

In his element

This is my desk.

This is Mizu lounging on my desk, surrounded by wig making stuffs, enjoying a 2nd day of mocking the resident Doll Attendant.

He's also purring contentedly because he's the main focus for once.

MIZU: AS IT SHOULD BE MORTAL.

....*=__=

MIZU: I'm just waiting for you to screw it up.
