When in pout....go play with your dolls

Add to Memories Tell a Friend

What I am pouting about is irrelevant ~ beyond the fact that I do know how to get my own kickers in a wad with great skill and need to get over myself.

While I am working out why I am acting like it's been a full moon all week ~ I wandered into some 1:6 doll forums and happily lost myself lurking around posts of people sharing piccies of their plastic babies....and telling stories with them.

So with a bit of time this morning to kill I hauled out my tripod and tried once more to play with my J-doll....whom I've finally named, by-the-bye. *^__^*

Yukiko (snow child ) is having an her early morning macha....

She is startled by the rasping sound of paper and purring.....

Looking down, she notices her cat has found her fan and is nuzzling it contentedly...

....I get it. I do. It's like being possessed...only more expensive.

An email this morning, informed me that my J-doll had been shipped.

*points to the green-eyed, blond-tressed girl*

Um...while she doesn't begin to approach the price range, nor customizable nature that defines the universe of Dolfies and their ilk...she is to my eye, utterly precious.

*BLARG...I can't believe I actually said the p-word*

Xan has been laughing her ass-off over this for weeks now...and only stopped when I dropped a D-BOMB on her....a.k.a. the url of a *MOST* desirable bishonen Dolfie-type of figure. The sound of whimpering at her end of the phone assured me that I wasn't alone in my madness ...and yes, it CAN hit that hard...hence, Missy Green-eyes was a desperate stopgap measure on my part to prevent traumatic hemorraging of the pocketbook before I leave for Kyoto (in 53 days...squee)

Naturally finding accessories and items to fill her environment with have been added to my Kyoto-shopping list. I will be keeping a close eyeout for minature Kyodai and/or Tansu, as well as 1:6 Tatami and folding screens. All preferably in a much lower price range...hopefully at the flea markets we'll be visiting.

And yes...I have already scrounged up a book (not from ebay but BK1) of patterns for traditional Japanese clothing for this size of doll. Of course you're not surprised...not really...considering the mountains of silk I'm hording.

....*head in hands*

If it wasn't all so much fun I'd have myself committed.
