Last night I had a lovely chat with
tameiki who kindly (and patiently) gave me a lesson in useful Japanese terms. The words, phonetic spelling and meaning/use have been transfered into my travel diary. Thank-you xoxo!
Today I did more stocking up on things that are bound to run out while I'm away (toilet paper, etc.) and did the final arrangements between Teh Bob and Friend where Teh Sprog will be staying while his sisters and dad are in NY. Lists - lists - lists. Seems it's all I do lately.
Buried Edgar D. Beta ~ the fish that came in a vase from a wedding my eldest daughter attended and wasn't expected to live a week let alone 8 months has passed onto the next turn of the wheel. I pointed out to her that he'd gone belly up yesterday. She was surprised....she'd not noticed. No one else has noticed his fishbowl is gone from the kitchen counter.... EXACTLY why the timing of his demise is so perfect (a.k.a. between my Japan trips). He'd have starved to death :(
After almost a year of patching and painting I put nails into Teh Bob's office wall to hang his bulletin board. Plaster walls....great fun *not*. Plaster walls & annoyed Bob who wanted it done already while I ATTEMPTED to find a nails that fit the P.O.S. and the long or short enough for the holes in the wacknut wall....really really great fun. *really really not*.
He wanted the hammer and nails to hang other things when I left. I paused....tried to talk him out of it and then decided WHATevah...I got other things to do.
Like call back the Gas company lady, who said she won't be back in the office till next Tuesday if I failed to connect with her today, to arrange an inspection date of my gaslines...before her office closed.
....I got a hold of her 15 minutes before the office shut. Not quite within that 48 hour call back from them I was promised ....*cough*...and so the *INSPECTION* is now set for the day AFTER I get home, since no one can come out here anyway till the middle of next week and I simply will NOT leave this to Teh Bob ....he can jungle numbers in his head like a calculator and clients like pingpong balls but when it comes to house stuff....no f**king way does he have any interst nor patience. *head desk*
Again I pull the *whatEVAH* hat down over my ears and move on. Things to do ~ things to do.
Placed the old camera and recharger in Teh Bob's laptop bag for his trip to NY next week.
Set up the ant traps.
Tried to call the parents for the 4th day in a row ...to no avail. NO FREAKING WAY am I initiating a 2 hour phone call with the parental units on the day before I leave when I'm running around I'm cleaning house, doing laundry, ironing and packing. Meh. I tried. The End.
Picking-up Teh Bob's drycleaning.
Nailing Teh Bob down long enough to talk about the nitty gritty and make sure all bases are covered because he's got things to do (bank/gym) tonight and then places to be (visit his dad because my man is going out of town and won't see his father till Saturday...)tonight, and then he leaves for Phillie tomorrow morning, to watch hockey when I take Teh Sprog to school and I won't see him till the 29th.....
*taps fingers on desk*
AAaaaaand...talked to a neighbour, with a house key, about bringing in the mail and newspapers during the family's absense for that NY trip and let hubber know it's looked after since he was going to remember it once he got to NY.
Yeah... anyway... I'm going outside now, in the rain, to transplant some zebra grass and dig a few dandilions up ~ then I will make dinner...and then make a latte to drown in while I watch the finale of America's Next Top Model before retiring to bed to finish the book I meant to finish yesterday. Tomorrow I am going to be this side of unhinged....but in a good way.
